Cindy Perkaj

Cindy Perkaj of Untamed Flame is known for her handmade, non-toxic, and deliciously smelling candles. Cindy grew up in Ossining and is now based in Katonah, where she makes her candles.

After graduating college in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, Cindy, having always been a self-starter with a knack for creation, needed to find something to do with this abundance of time. After learning how toxic and unsustainable the candles she was buying from the store were, she found making her own clean burning candles productive and rewarding. Using soy wax, as well as prioritizing non-toxic fragrance oils, Cindy’s candles are refreshing and pollutant free. Untamed Flame Candle provides any room with an aroma that can be warm and cozy, vibrant and energizing, or soft and subtle.

When Cindy is creating her new scents or embellishing each candle with an individual flower or crystal, she feels at peace and stress free. When asked about what Melita’s Village Nest means to her, Cindy says it is “. . . the empowerment of creative, strong, smart woman. A place where you can be yourself and connect with other people.” We completely agree.
